Born on April 6, Aubrey Caroline was born on a rainy day in the middle of the afternoon to parents Sabrina and Ethan and to brother Michael and Andrew. Her mother, Sabrina, praised her daughter and told everyone that Aubrey was a blessing in disguised. The only daughter now, and ever, born into this Montgomery family, she was spoiled. A younger sister and daddy’s little girl, anything Summer asked for, she normally got. Sabrina never was around for the major points in her daughter’s first few years of life, but Ethan told everyone that he would be there for every important moment that Aubrey would experience. Less than two years later, the last sibling/child of the Beaumont family, James Keith, was born. Aubrey planned to be the best big sister she could be, and when the attention slowly left her and went to James, she didn’t mind. Her younger brother deserved the attention that he was getting, as he was absolutely adorable. However, one person in the family didn’t agree.
Almost four years after Aubrey was born, it was discovered that Sabrina had been in an affair with her boss, Marcus. Ethan, who didn’t see this coming, was absolutely devastated and locked himself in his room for the first three months after the truth was out. At this time, Andrew was nine and knew well enough then to let his younger siblings alone in the world. At the simple age of nine, Andrew had to mature. And, well, it helped that Allison came to the rescue to help her brother. Immediately when Allison appeared at her brother’s house, a yelling fit broke out between Allison and Sabrina and ended with the slam of the front door and Sabrina leaving her children and husband’s life forever. For some weird reason, each of her children’s birthdays, she sends them a dozen pink flowers, as though that can make up for the abandonment. Never has any of the siblings looked for their mother, and most likely, they never will go searching for a women who never wanted them.
Growing up without a mother was not that big of a deal for Aubrey. Her mother had never been a major part in her life before and it wasn’t like James remembers his mother. Allison ended up moving in with the family and becoming their ‘mother’ while Ethan, who took almost a year or more to get over the fact that his wife left, made sure that he would be there for every event. Never did he date and never did he remarry. To him, there seemed no sense to go through heartbreak again and have his children get used to someone who may not even stay forever.
Aubrey’s childhood was completely normal, or almost, and she never really learned how to be a girly-girl until she was a teenager. Her brothers, who were involved with sports, didn’t mind that their sister was a girl and included her in tackle football in more than one occasion in central park. When Aubrey turn fifteen, though, her brother’s friends finally realized that the girl they’ve been growing up with was, in fact, a beautiful girl. Soon enough her first love, Mason, asked her on a date and their relationship lasted three years before she called it quits, as her senior year in high school was starting, Mason was heading off to college, and she wanted someone knew. Soon enough, her second love, Mark, entered her life and captured her heart until her second year in college when he transferred. Since then, Aubrey has had her fair share of dates, none that have become something more.

It was official; she had lost her favorite purse with her license and debit card, and it was pissing her off. It wasn’t in her apartment, that much was sure considering the fact that Aubrey had destroyed her apartment looking for it. Her purse was not in her car, since her car was so tiny and it was impossible to lose something. There was no way her purse was at her desk at work anyways, so she was racking her mind for where she could have put her Prada bag. Normally, Aubrey wouldn’t be so concerned about where her purse was; it was just a purse. But this purse was her life, that was the only way to describe it. Biting her lip, she glanced around her apartment once again. It was in shambles, and it was bother Aubrey way too much. She had a problem when things weren’t in place, but she couldn’t help but destroy her apartment to look for this. There could only be so many places where a purse could be, especially a black one that all of her friends saw all the time and whatnot. Grabbing her cell phone, she texted Anna and Benny, hoping for some sort of response with an answer where her purse would be, but there was no response. Of course. Vaguely, she remembered Benny saying something about not going to the apartment tonight because he was impressing Anna with something, but at this point, she didn’t care. All she wanted was to be back with her adoring purse and her belongings. Waiting a couple of more seconds, hoping for a response, she came up with one option; she was going to have to go her friend’s apartment and look for her stupid purse. Gr.
The brunette prayed that no cop would pull her over in the next ten minutes. She’d be arrested, and there was no need to arrest her for forgetting where her purse was. No cop would agree to that, unless he was really hot and made her go on a date with him. She thought about that. Huh, that wouldn’t actually be bad. That would put a whole new perspective on being arrested. A red light appeared and her car skidded to a stop, fling Aubrey towards the windshield and she swore. This was not a good day. Her hand fiddled with the radio, looking for some station before hearing California Girls by Katy Perry. This, of course, led to her to start dancing in her car, with one window down and shaking her hair. A loud beep brought her out of her zone and she looked behind her, mortified. One of her bosses-yes, plural-was behind her and waved. She felt her cheeks turn bright red and quickly sped off. Oh my god. How could she ever be taken seriously in the fashion photography business? This day was just getting better and better.
Quickly pulling into the driveway, her eyes landed on the cars in front of her. Benny and Anna’s car was there and she bit her bottom lip. Part of her was telling her that there was a reason Benny had told her not to stop by tonight, not even if someone was dying, but she really needed her purse. Her purse was her baby. And a mother could never be parted from her baby, right? The brunette knew that a male would never understand where she was coming from, but she had to go in. She just had to. Her cell phone vibrate and she glanced at it, the text message from her father. No, of course it wouldn’t be from her friends telling her they knew where her purse was. That would be way too nice, right? Whatever, once again, Aubrey ignored her inner voice and entered the house, surprised that the front door was unlocked.
Her eyes glanced around the nice house; she always adored Benny and his home. It was so nice and clean and pretty, and it made Aubrey’s tiny apartment look like a place where hobo’s would live or something. Humming, she looked around the living room before her eyes landed on her purse in the corner. Her beloved baby was hiding in the corner, right beneath her sweater. She must have left it here last night when Aubrey dropped something off for Benny, not that she could remember what it was. Whatever, her purse was reunited with her now and her life was complete. And then she saw James walking by, wearing girl’s underwear. Wow. Ok then. She went towards the kitchen and stuck her head around the corner, only to see Benny and Anna in one of their kissy-kissy moments. Way to ruin the moment, right? ”Is there any particular reason James is wearing girl underwear?” she asked, her eyebrow raised. ”And I see why neither of you responded to my text message telling you I was coming over.” it was a playful banter that was evident from the smile teasing at her lips.
